A Taste of Trampolining and Badminton for Primaries

Over fifty Year 5 and 6 pupils from our cluster primary schools enjoyed a Badminton and Trampolining taster, on Monday 19 November. Pupils from Lanercost, Fir Ends, Lees Hill, Great Corby, Castle Carrock, Brampton, Irthington, Crosby and Warwick Bridge participated in two 40-minute sessions within each activity.

During the trampolining session pupils learned about different safety elements before developing their ability to perform different shapes, seat drops and half twists. Within the badminton session pupils played some paired rallies before learning about effective ways to serve. They then played mini competitive games against other pupils from different schools. All pupils demonstrated excellent sportsmanship and behaviour.

A big thank you to Mr Anderson who led the trampolining sessions and to the Year 9 Sports Leaders who led the badminton activities and assisted with the trampolining. Also thank you to the staff from Great Corby, Castle Carrock and Brampton who supported the festival.
