Summer 2016 Headlines

William Howard School students are once again celebrating excellent GCSE results. Domenic Volpe, Deputy Headteacher said “There were some stunning results for individuals, with 12 students averaging an A or better across all of their GCSEs.   Some 59% achieved 5A*-C, with 70% of all grades awarded at a C or higher.  Students will now be able to move on and plan their futures with solid foundations.”  Many students are continuing their education at William Howard School Sixth Form and will embark on their new and exciting courses on 5 September.  Lorrayne Hughes, Executive Headteacher Cumbria Education Trust said “These results mark the culmination of another year of hard work and concentrated effort from students and staff.  I would like to take this opportunity to wish all students well in the future.”

William Howard Post 16 students also produced some fantastic results.  Many students have outperformed against their expected outcomes, producing some phenomenal grades.  Of particular note are Ceri Allgood, Jonathan Dixon, Niobe Dodd, Louise Graham, Callum Kennedy, Katie Lightowler, Kyra Medcalf and Alex Warwick who all achieved at least two A*s – a fantastic achievement!  25% of all students achieved at least a B in all their results.  Students are on track to achieve their chosen University places from September, with others moving onto apprenticeships and the world of work.

Well done to the class of 2016.
