We finished last year with some of our best ever attendance results for an Autumn Term of 95%. We have made massive strides over the past 12 months through targeted work with young people and their families. As we move forward, we wish to improve on this further and as such we have employed staff who will be trying to make direct and where possible, first day contact with parents, whose children are absent from school. This will either be by phone or in some cases it will be through visiting homes to support parents to get their children into school.
As a school, our philosophy is clear and that is if a child is not in school then they cannot be learning; research shows that students with the best attendance produce the best results. We will therefore do whatever we can to support full attendance.
Can I take this opportunity to thank you in advance for your co-operation.
Mr McPartlan, Assistant Headteacher (Welfare, Behaviour & Mental Health)
