Careers Working Group

The WHS Careers Working Group have been presented with an award from Cumbria Local Enterprise Partnership and the Careers and Enterprise Company, for commitment to creating powerful relationships between education and employers to support young people. William Howard is the lead school for the North Cumbria Careers Hub, sharing their practice with other local schools.

The Careers Team in School is led by Mrs Hill; supported by Aspirations Coach, Mrs Meakin; and Achievement & Alternative Curriculum Co-ordinator, Ms Sawdon; and within departments we have Careers Champions, linking careers into the curriculum. These staff wear a badge to indicate this role to students.  In addition, many teaching staff are also wearing badges showing where they studied at university – these badges were provided by Hello Future and worn to encourage students to ask about career pathways.
