Nine students travelled to Penrith to represent the school at a Cumberland Football Association Inclusive Football event on Wednesday 6 February. They all enjoyed the day and played well as a team. They played against five other schools from around the county and won four matches, drew one and lost one. This is William Howard School’s best result to date at this event. The day was, however, more about taking part and enjoying football than winning. When asked what they had enjoyed most about the day, all the students said that it was the opportunity they had had to meet and talk to students from other schools and the medals of course.
Well done to Jake Thorburn, Kate Van Wyk, Josie Wright, William Sewell, Joshua Fleming, Libby Kavanagh, Davonna Cowan and Thomas Threlkeld. Well done also to Heathcliff Stone who carried out the role of pitch manager and linesman.
