On Monday evening, two WHS students competed in the local final of the national Futurechef competition. Natasha Fell (Year 10) and Poppy Gregory (Year 11) both did incredibly well at the cook-off held in Kendal College. Poppy was announced the overall winner of the round and will go on to the regional finals in Mancester in February.
They had to prepare a two-course meal for two people. Natasha made a Chicken Ballotine with julienne carrots and jus, and a Raspberry Mille Feullie for desert. Poppy cooked a Roast Loin of Rabbit with Teriyaki Rabbit and seasonal vegetables, followed by Poached Pear in a Brandy Snap Basket.
We wish Poppy lots for luck for the next round where she will compete against six other Local Final winners from across the North West.
