This year, the Geography Department offered Year 11 students an opportunity to attend a revision and outdoor activities weekend with the aim of keeping students motivated, focused and engaged as they progress to their final exams. The residential took place at Winmarleigh Hall in Lancashire from Friday, 15 March until Sunday, 17 March, and comprised a unique combination of adventure activities and teacher-led study time.
Morning revision sessions were run by the WHS Geography Department and included fun, interactive strategies to aid revision and consolidate their geographical knowledge. These were followed in the afternoon by outdoor activities led by the center staff. Canoeing, a high ropes course, a giant swing and a sensory trail provided a great chance for the students to de-stress and enjoy each other’s company.
