Sports Day

Sports Day will be held on Wednesday, 17 July.

Students have signed up for events and are in the process of double checking these in Registration. The event is a House event, where participation and performance are rewarded adding to each house total. I have included important information below to ensure all students have a positive and productive day.

The format of the day is slightly different from previous years:

Period 1 and Period 2

  • Years 7 and 8 are competing in their athletics and sports
  • Years 9 and 10 will be in their normal timetabled lesson completing a house challenge

Period 3 and Period 4

  • Years 7 and 8 will be in their normal timetabled lesson completing a house challenge
  • Years 9 and 10 will be competing in their athletics and sports

Period 5 All students will then gather on the field for the finals and score announcements

Dress All students are expected to come to school in their PE sports clothing.
We are making an exception to leggings this year. Students may wear plain blue or black sports leggings without large logos. Students are not allowed to wear make-up and face or body paints.

Weather  With the unpredictability of the weather, please could I ask that you ensure your child has appropriate clothing to cope with the ever changing conditions. The long range forecast is for light rain but a warm day. Shade and shelter is limited, therefore please ensure that your child has suncream, and suitable waterproofs, we are unable to supply this. If they are susceptible to sunburn please ensure they are covered up appropriately. In the heat, it is also essential that students have enough drink to keep hydrated.

Refreshments Students will have their breaks as normal.

Parents Unfortunately, due to the school being a secure site, we cannot allow parents to spectate.
