Students Tackle The Bebras Computing Challenge

Students in Years 7, 8 and 9 have been tackling the BEBRAS CHALLENGE this week, showing how they can tackle problems as varied as beavers on a lift (no heavier than 30Kg in total!) and designing plates in different colours – to specific rules. Their IT teachers have been highly impressed by how the students have adapted their approaches to each task and really put a lot of thought and effort into their answers.

The Bebras Computing Challenge introduces computational thinking to students, and is organised by Oxford University, and supported by Google.  It is organised in over 40 countries and designed to get students all over the world excited about computing. The tasks are fun, engaging and based on problems that Computer Scientists often meet and enjoy solving. The tasks can be solved without prior knowledge but instead require logical thinking.
