We have had a wonderful end to the Autumn Term, with plenty of festive fun.
The classrooms, corridors and common rooms were jollied up with a sea of Christmas jumpers, pyjamas, and glittering accessories. A massive thank you to all the students and staff who paid a donation to ‘Save the Children’ for wearing something festive today. The total amount raised is £317.80 and will make a huge difference to the families the charity supports.
It was bright outdoors too for the much anticipated Sixth Form v Year 11 Derby, with the teams being cheered on by Year 10, 11, Sixth Form students and staff. It was a very close game and at full time the score was 0-0. The result came down to a tense penalty shoot-out where the Year 11 team took home the trophy after a 4-2 victory.
Mr Connolly led special celebration assemblies for Years 7, 8 and 9, with reminders of the true meaning of Christmas, and Carol singing accompanied by our choir. There has never been a more enthusiastic rendition of The Twelve Days of Christmas!
We wish everyone a thoroughly enjoyable holiday and look forward to welcoming everyone back for an exciting New Year.
