Jessica Betts is our Alumna of the Month for November. Jessica left William Howard School in 2010. During her time here, she studied Biology, Chemistry and Maths, and had an interest in working with animals, which led to her studying a Zoology degree.
Jessica then went on to gain a MSc Zoology followed by MSc Conservation Science. She is now a Conservation and Wildlife Scientist, specialising in Marine Biology for an international nature conservation charity dedicated to protecting the planet’s threatened wildlife and habitats. The charity works closely with local conservation partners in almost 50 countries to protect habitats, revive the ocean, reduce extinctions, stop illegal wildlife trade, combat climate change and influence global policy and corporate sustainability.
It wasn’t until quite late in her degree that Jessica specialised in conservation. Jessica has kindly offered our current students her time as a mentor to inspire the next generation of Zoologists, Conservationists and Marine Biologists.
If you’re a past student, we’d love to hear what you are doing now to help inspire and encourage our current students. Please visit https://williamhoward.fireflycloud.net/alumni/alumni-form, so we can keep in touch.
