Christopher Moss left WHS in 2016 and after a year of working near Carlisle, moved to London to study Law at University College London. After graduating in 2020 he undertook the bar course before obtaining pupillage (a legal apprenticeship you need to become a barrister) at 39 Essex Chambers starting in September 2021. As a pupil barrister, Christopher worked on a wide range of legal matters from multi-million-pound construction disputes to personal injury. Christopher started appearing in court himself in early 2022, which he enjoyed and was very happy to be offered tenancy at 39 Essex to join as a fully-fledged barrister in September 2022.
Christopher has happy memories of his time at WHS and his school friends are still close. Whilst the opportunity to study A Level Law set him on his career path, he felt that the array of supportive and engaging teachers he had, who really wanted their students to succeed, was more important and instilled the drive and commitment he needed to get where he is now. Lastly, the willingness of WHS to support student-led extracurricular activities, such as the Amnesty International Group, is something he looks back on fondly and would heartily recommend that any current students with ideas of their own get the school’s support to pursue them.
