Carlisle Music and Drama Festival Success

Thank you to all our students who took part in this year’s Carlisle Music and Drama Festival. They did so well and were a real credit to the school.

The William Howard School Choir came first (just beating Austin Friars), as did Matthew Warwick (for brass, Jazz piano and organ), Andrew Woodmas-Calvert (voice), George Sidaway (guitar), Abbie McPhearson (guitar).

The following students achieved second place: Brendan Cars (guitar), Olivia McPheason (woodwind), Anya McKenzie (voice), Isabella Briggs (piano), and Lorna and Josie Mattinson (duet).

The WHS Clarinet Quintet achieve a commended performance, and so too did Billy Macgregor (guitar).

Unfortunately, the Friday and Saturday competitions had to be postponed due to the Coronavirus outbreak. These classes, orchestra and voice, will hopefully take place in July.
