At William Howard School we understand the importance of supporting students through the choices that will determine their journey through the next stage of their school experience and beyond. The option process has been designed to provide the structure, advice and guidance needed to make informed decisions about the qualifications that will be studied. We advise students to maintain a broad and balanced choice of subjects to ensure that future pathways are kept open and choices are well informed to prepare for the next stage of education, employment or training.
The key stage 5 curriculum consists of a range of subjects which are aimed at meeting the personalised needs of all students.
Year 12
Additional to 3 option choices, all students will study Core Maths or an Extended Project Qualification. PE and PD also form a core element of the Year 12 curriculum.
Year 13
Students will continue to study their 3 options choices that were started in Year 12. Additionally, students attend one PD lesson a week and have access to sports sessions.
