The Year 12 Product Design students had a fantastic trip to London last Wednesday. Catching an early morning train, they crammed in as many inspiring destinations as possible starting with the Design Museum – the world’s leading museum devoted to contemporary design. They went on to the Serpentine Gallery, Buckingham Palace then lastly, Tom Dixon’s Studio where they were given a special tour and some beautiful drawing tools each. Tom is a luxury brand designer who works mainly in lighting, accessories and furniture.
The students arrived back in Carlisle that evening with their heads filled with design inspiration and ideas. Mrs Dixon described it as the best trip ever and Mrs Twentyman agreed the students had been brilliant!
