We are pleased to introduce William Howard’s new Enterprise Advisor, Lyndsey Fitheridge, who will be working alongside our Careers Leader, Mrs Hill supporting students with pathways into industry, allowing us to further bridge the gap between the world of work and education.
The Enterprise Advisor Network is co-ordinated by the Careers and Enterprise Company and volunteer Enterprise Advisers are professionals from any industry, including HR, who volunteer to work directly with a school or college to develop a strong careers programme and help create opportunities for young people. Lyndsey is Commercial Director for SP Training/System People Ltd, a local training and recruitment company specialising in the Logistics and Education sectors. She gained her HR degree in 2004 from UCLAN and is CIPD Qualified and has over 20 year experience as a professional recruiter. Her work for SP Training promotes the range of apprenticeships available both locally and nationally. Lyndsey also oversees a Teaching Supply Business across Cumbria. SP Training was in the news this week as three of their instructors helped to train the Top Gear presenters in how to drive an HGV wagon. Lyndsey has a strong network of business associates and is a member of the Cumbria Transport Group (CTG) steering committee which helps promote the interests of the logistics industry and highlights career opportunities in the sector. She has a personal interest in career management and is the Careers Lead for her company and supports their range of apprentices with information, advice and guidance. Lyndsey is excited to join William Howard School and is looking forward to working with staff and students here.
