A group of students who have shown a keen interest in history/archaeology, or received academic prizes last term, had a trip out to Birdoswald Roman Fort yesterday. Pupils carried out activities in the fort, enjoyed the interactive exhibition area and handled a variety of artefacts. The group were photographed by a professional photographer, and may appear on English Heritage websites/leaflets soon!
Many of the pupils who attended the trip took part in the Carlisle Cricket Club community excavation last term, the new exhibition highlighting the amazing finds from this dig opens at Tullie this Saturday! And for anyone wanting a challenge, please take a look online at The Mysteries of Corbridge; can you come up with a use for the Roman dodecahedron?
