We have received updated guidance today from the Department for Education regarding extra-curricular activities. The guidance, rather than stopping the activities, has now completely flipped towards supporting their provision. I have included an extract from the updated guidance below:
Schools and colleges can and should be continuing to offer before and after school or college activities and clubs for their pupils… This includes activities and clubs related to PE, sport, music, dance and drama.
Over the coming days we will start to reinstate the extra-curricular provision that we had successfully been able to put in place within the year group bubbles before the revised national restrictions started on 5 November.
I am sure that the students will welcome the return of these opportunities and I share your frustration that the original guidance given to schools stopped their provision.
