Today we celebrated our links with Tanzania by holding events to raise the profile of this year’s visit and fundraise for our 2020 projects. As Tanzania is part of the Commonwealth, this week was chosen as it coincided with Commonwealth Day on Monday, 9 March.
To help raise funds, students had the option to pay £1 to wear a hoodie in place of their usual school blazer. There was also a home baking sale in the foyer during breaktimes, and a raffle with fantastic hampers and prizes.
The group of Sixth Form students and staff who are taking part in this year’s visit will spend 10 days working with the Amani Street Children’s Home in Moshi to see the work of the charity and support the young people who are in its care. http://www.amanikids.org.
