Following on from their success earlier in the year at a North Cumbria Multi-Sports event, our Year 8 team were invited to the Active Cumbria and Panathlon County Finals at Penrith Leisure Centre yesterday.
They had a wonderful afternoon competing against five other secondary schools from around Cumbria. Each team rotated around six different activities trying to score as many points as they could in an allotted time. Our team performed brilliantly showing great enthusiasm and determination. They worked fantastically well as a team, supporting and encouraging each other and celebrating each other’s successes with high fives and lots of cheering. Their confidence grew as they progressed through the activities and every member of the team achieved some great scores.
Sports Leaders from Trinity School led the event, and they did a wonderful job explaining the activities to the students and recording the scores.
At the end, everyone waited expectantly for the results. Our team was ecstatic when they were announced as the winners. They went up to receive their medals and trophy with huge smiles on their faces.
