Mrs Brereton was delighted to receive these fantastic pieces of work from Year 8 English students. The students have been working on nature poetry, in particular a poem by Seamus Heaney called ‘Death of a Naturalist’. One of the creative tasks they were set was to transform a section of this poem, or another one (for example, ‘The Tiger’ by William Blake) into a newspaper report.
Well done Aden and Alastair! Mrs Brereton said, “What super pieces of writing. Thank you both for the effort and care that you have put in – they’re really lovely pieces of writing that use the key features of a news report”.
