Performing Arts London Trip

During the last week of term, Performing Arts students spent a few days in London soaking up some culture and improving their own performances in a couple of workshops at Pineapple Studios. Here’s Miss Inglesfield’s daily updates of the trip…

Day 1

After today’s 9 hour journey, the PA trip finally made it to London. Everyone was in good spirits surprisingly and couldn’t wait to get to the theatre. We went to see ‘Come From Away’ which was outstanding! All students thoroughly enjoyed it. After a late dinner, everyone went off to bed to get a well needed rest.

Day 2

Students have taken part in a dance workshop with a cast member from ‘Back to the Future’ at Pineapple Dance Studios and they were all amazing! Now we’re getting ready to head out for Miss Inglesfield’s magical mystery tour before a quick costume change ready for dinner at Bella Italia and the show tonight which is ‘Back to the Future’.

Day 3

After watching the incredible show ‘Back to the future’ last night, students were ready for day 3! We started the day with a comedy workshop at Pineapple Dance Studios based on ‘The play that goes wrong’ – the play we are seeing in the evening. The students were fantastic and the workshop leader, Mike, expressed how impressed he was and how much he’d enjoyed running the workshop. From here we collected our lunch and headed straight to the National Theatre for a backstage tour.

After some free time in Leicester Square and Covent Garden, we then headed for dinner and to our final show of the trip, ‘The play that goes wrong’ at The Duchess Theatre. It made the students laugh out loud and give the production a standing ovation. As the show finished earlier than we expected, some students went to visit St. Paul’s Cathedral whilst the rest went to put our feet up!

Day 4

Our last day, involved picking up our lunches and heading to the Southbank for a lovely stroll before heading into the London Dungeons! Luckily we all made it out in one piece and were able to enjoy some free time in Covent Garden before getting back on the train home.

All staff have been so impressed with our students and we’ve all had a thoroughly wonderful time. Happy Summer holidays to all!
