‘Project Power’ Hatches Campaign

As part of the Year 9 Creative Curriculum, a group of students involved in ‘Project Power’ have organised a campaign to raise awareness of Battery Farming. As well as creating information displays and writing persuasive materials, they also arranged a chick hatching programme in school to publicize their campaign. Ten embryo eggs were quietly incubated in the foyer and all hatched within the week, stirring great interest and excitement. During breaktimes students have had the chance to carefully hold the the chicks. They certainly have grabbed the attention that the campaign was aiming for.

Once they are big enough all of the chicks will be found suitable new homes with students and staff, or will join the other hens in our Open Spaces garden.
