Former WHS student Marnie Murdie, came back into school on Tuesday to discuss her experience of undertaking a degree apprenticeship with our current Year 13 students.
Marnie was a proactive student whilst at William Howard and lined up weekly work experience with Edwin Thompson during her Year 12, and then throughout Year 13. She initially found out about degree apprenticeships from the Harper Adams University website when researching her options. Marnie then asked Edwin Thompson if they would be prepared to put her through her “Chartered Rural Surveyor Degree Apprenticeship”. Not only did they agree, but they have now offered this opportunity to other young people.
Marnie has kindly come back into school on a number of occasions to share her experience with current students. On this occasion she lead an hourlong PD session, and was joined remotely by a representative from Harper Adams University, who spoke to students more generally about degree apprenticeship schemes.
