Sixth Form Dress Code

The dress code for Sixth Form students is smart/office wear:

  • T-shirt/Shirt; Sweatshirt/Jumper
  • Smart skirt / Dress / Trousers / Jeans
  • Student Lanyard
  • Sensible Footwear
  • Outdoor wear (hats/coats) for outside only

Specific stipulations:

  • Midriffs should be covered (i.e. no crop tops)
  • Skirts should be knee length or longer
  • Modesty should be considered
  • Underwear must not be on show
  • No joggers/tracksuit bottoms/Lycra leggings. Students that require specialist dress for their subjects will be permitted to do so on the days that it is required
  • Jeans should be smart fitting, clean with no rips or frays
  • Knee level smart dress shorts are permissible. Sports shorts are not
  • Footwear should be appropriate for the lesson. Open shoes are not suitable for practical subjects and flip-flops are a health and safety concern in the busy areas of the school
  • Words and diagrams on clothing should not be offensive or possibly be seen as offensive (e.g. references to drugs or sex)
  • Headwear should not be worn as fashion items but in cold weather to keep warm. Hats should not be worn indoors
  • No outdoor coats to be worn on entering the building

A final decision on what is acceptable rests with the Head of Sixth Form.
