Ski and Snowboarding Trip 2023

Dear Parent

We are hoping to run the 2023 school skiing and snowboarding trip to Passo Tonale in Italy during February half-term next year, the dates being:

  • Departure: Saturday 18th February 2023
  • Return: Sunday 26th February 2023

This resort is excellent for school parties providing facilities to learn to ski or snowboard and also slopes that are more challenging to enable students to develop their skills to become intermediate and advanced skiers or snowboarders.

The full cost of the trip will be £1,400.00 and we will be staying at the 3-star Hotel Dolomiti, Via Case Sparse del Tonale 102, 25056 Passo del Tonale BS, Italy with coach transport provided by Travellers Choice. The increase over last year’s trip is due the increase cost of transport, fuel, accommodation and food costs. This hotel is in a premium, excellent location being right on the slopes and caters superbly for school groups. This cost will include:

  • Full Board Accommodation
  • Luxury Coach with TV/DVD/CD, toilet, reclining seats
  • Channel crossing
  • Hot lunches
  • 6 days skiing or snowboarding
  • 6 hours of ski and snowboard tuition each day
  • 6-day lift pass, covering over 150 km of runs in three resorts
  • All skiing and snowboard equipment, including helmets for all students (not clothing)
  • Personal Insurance
  • Doorstep skiing and snowboarding
  • A wide variety of evening activities such as ice skating, night skiing, swimming and bum boarding

All party members must travel on their own passport that must be valid for 3 months after the date of departure from Italy, i.e. it must not expire before Sunday, 26 June 2023.  If your child’s passport expires before this date, you will need to have it renewed before they could travel.  Participants need to also take full responsibility for compliance with travel restrictions concerning COVID vaccinations for France and Italy.  Failure to do so will result in the student being unable to travel and all monies forfeited.

All off-site educational activities are automatically covered by the school insurance.  This cover is provided by the Department for Education’s Risk Protection Arrangements and will cover all eventualities including cancellation and prohibiting of travel by the FCDO and return of all monies paid.  A copy of the school’s insurance certificate is available on the school website.

In order for all activities during the trip to run safely and in order to prevent or manage emergencies we may share information relating to your child with Kym Allan Health and Safety Consultants, Hotel Dolomiti, Traveller’s Choice and DFDS.  If you would like to know more about what they do with data, please see their privacy notices at:

Places on the ski/snowboarding trip are limited to 50.  If there is over subscription by students, then places will be determined through ballot.  They will not be allocated on a first come first served basis as we recognise that for some families organising the deposit can take time.

If you wish your child to be included in the trip, please complete and return the consent form and ski and snowboard information form (below) together with a deposit of £250.00 as soon as possible and no later than Friday, 13 May 2022.

If you require any further information, please do not hesitate to contact me by email at

Yours sincerely
Carolyn Tait (Trip Leader)
