Sweet Blessings

Since September the Year 11 GCSE Religious Education classes have been studying Jewish beliefs and teachings. On Tuesday they celebrated the new year festival of Rosh Hashanah with traditional dish of apples dipped in honey. Within the Jewish community this is a time when families gather together to remember all that has happened over the last year and individuals aim to make amends for any wrongs that they may have committed. One key feature of Jewish festivals is the symbolic food served and at Rosh Hashanah the apples and honey represent the desire to have sweetness and blessings in the year ahead.  Obviously all the RE staff wish our students every success this year too!
