Our Year 12 students had the opportunity to attend the UK University and Apprenticeship Search Fair held at Lancaster University today (Friday 25th April), along with Miss Nicholls and Mrs Hill.
This visit forms part of our Future Focus Programme, which runs throughout the summer term and is designed to support students in making informed decisions about their post-18 pathways.
During the event, students engaged with a wide range of exhibitors, including universities from across the UK as well as both local and national apprenticeship providers. They also attended informative seminars on key topics such as writing personal statements, making the most of university life, and understanding how apprenticeships can enhance employability prospects.
In the afternoon, the students explored Lancaster University’s campus, giving them a valuable insight into student life and the university environment.
This experience is one of several planned opportunities to help students explore their future options. Upcoming events include a visit to Edge Hill University, where they will take part in bespoke workshops, as well as a series of in-school sessions with guest speakers from higher education and industry.
Miss Nichols said: “We were incredibly proud of how our students conducted themselves throughout the day. They showed maturity, enthusiasm, and curiosity—truly making the most of the opportunity.”
