Four of our budding engineers took part in the CET Innovate Competition at The Whitehaven Academy yesterday.
The CET Innovate project involves all CET schools and is designed to promote problem solving, design, teamwork and public speaking skills in the students. The teams from each school had to pitch their bright ideas to an external judging panel.
Ruby, Alice, Daniel and Joshua worked incredibly hard to produce an innovative idea called ‘Clean Halo’. Clean Halo is an effective and versatile air purifier designed to prevent the spread of contagious illnesses. This product could be deployed across the NHS, in schools, and in everyday workplaces. It really does meet the challenging brief of designing a product that is ‘world changing’.
Their DT teacher, Mrs Twentyman, remarked: “Our team has shown true resilience throughout the entire process and has done us all proud!”
