Congratulations to our Year 7 and Year 8 students for their excellent performance during last half-term’s assessment weeks. Students across both year groups approached the assessments well and we are very proud of them.
Compared with last year, average scores in many tests increased, reflecting the impact of our revised approach to revision alongside our recent focus on formative assessment and long-term retrieval practice in lessons.
Awards were presented across both year groups to recognise outstanding achievement:
- Gold Awards were given to the student with the highest average score in the year group.
- Silver Awards were awarded to students who achieve an average score of over 80% across their assessments.
- Class Awards were also presented for the highest score achieved in each subject within each class.
A special mention must go to Caoimhe, who achieved the Year 8 Gold Award with an exceptional average of 96%. This marks the third successive Assessment Week in which Caoimhe has achieved the Gold Award. Congratulations Caoimhe on your ‘hat-trick’ – a truly outstanding accomplishment.
Congratulations also to Ceri, who achieved the highest average score in Year 7 (88%), earning the Year 7 Gold Award.
