It was a big day today for our Young Firefighter trainees who have gone through a five-week training programme at Carlisle Community Fire Station.
In front of their families, the eleven Year 8 students celebrated their Passing Out Parade by demonstrating some of the skills they have learned, including hose work and a simulated rescue situation, before being presented with their certificates by Area Manager Lauren Woodward.
Further to the practical skills they developed as Young Firefighters, the course promoted teamwork, problem-solving and resilience. We are very grateful to Cumbria Fire and Rescue Service for giving our students this incredible opportunity.
