The Ethics Cup is a national competition which encourages students to learn how to ‘disagree, agreeably’. Last Thursday, our Year 12 Philosophy students participated in our own in-house version.
It focused on three topical issues and asked students to consider how we can have polite and productive debate within our everyday lives, especially when it comes to things which are controversial.
Each group had the opportunity to present their side of the argument and ask challenge questions to their opposition. The students created powerful and convincing speeches, and Ms Booker who ran the day said: “The Year 12s were exceptional, and we had a thoroughly enjoyable day ‘putting the world to rights’. We can’t wait to do it again next year.”
