The RE Department were thrilled to welcome Gen Lhachog from Uma Kadampa Buddhist centre in Carlisle, on Thursday. A native Cumbrian and a Buddhist Nun, Gen spent an hour with our Year 11 GCSE Religious Studies class discussing how her Buddhist beliefs and practice influence her everyday life.
She then visited a Year 7 RE class where she explained to students the meaning behind the objects that make up a Buddhist shrine and led them in a short meditation. Both the students and the staff involved learnt so much and would really like to thank Gen for sharing her time and her wisdom with us.
