What a great end to the half term! A huge crowd gathered on the ATP during break time to cheer on and watch hockey sticks clash in the much-anticipated Staff House Hockey Tournament.
Joint House team Talkin/Vindolanda took on the Eden/Gelt team, and it wasn’t just the PE teachers amongst the players who showed fierce competitiveness on the pitch – there were plenty of thrills and spills as no one held back in their determination to win.
The final score was 2-0 to Talkin/Vindolanda, though it would have been 2-1 if Mrs Nettleton had not brilliantly deflected Mrs Holliday’s shot off the line. Well done to Maths teachers Mr Tanner and Miss Hodgson for scoring the ‘goals that count’ (get it?!).
The mighty Talkin/Vindolanda players then faced our Senior Leader Team, who had swapped their suits for a pink team strip and brought along a giant pink unicorn mascot.
However, even with Ms Pigdon on their side, they were no match for Team Talkin/Vindolanda. Final score 2-1. Deputy Headteacher, Mr O’Connor scored for the SLT Team but Mr Anderson smashed the winning two goals for Talkin/Vindolanda.
Scores didn’t really matter though! The staff proved to be brilliant sports, willing to provide some fabulous entertainment for our students and round off the half term with some fun.
Well done and thanks to:
