A huge well done to both of the Year 8 netball teams who played against Trinity school on Wednesday. There was some exceptional play and both teams worked incredibly hard. A draw for one team (6-6) and a loss for the other – we reflect, we re-group and we go again! A huge well done goes to all players: Ava Stainton, Janie McAulay, Ellen Starkey, Olivia Robinson, Gabrielle Barker, Sadie Norman-Thorpe, Mia Kelly, Thea Hansel, Mia Ridley, Eva Watt, Tilly Broome, Georgia Davies, Paloma O’Connor, Honey Crouch and Esme Bell.
The following day, one of the teams played against RR Morton Academy – An absolute solid performance by the girls, huge amount of effort and support for each other resulting in them not conceding (WHS 6 – RRMA 0). Well done to Ava, Janie, Ellen, Olivia, Tilly, Paloma and Thea.
Year 7 netballers also played against Trinity on Wednesday evening. What They lacked in height, they certainly made up for in effort and determination!
Miss Carruthers said, “It is only their second game this year, but there was noticeable improvement in their performance. I am proud of every one of them!”
Well done to Ruby Hewson, Emily Potter, Phoenix Barker, Lexie Sherlock, Everlynne Mowbray, Ellie Vance, Jessie Dalby and Lauren McLaughlin.
The Year 10 team gave a solid performance on Thursday against RRMA, with some brilliant set pieces coming together nicely (WHS 12 – RRMA 5). They are very much ready for their Holland Sports Tour at Easter, as the season goes on, they are going from strength to strength!
