Year 12 students took part in a Prefect Selection Day today, working with Miss Nicholls and members of the Sixth Form Leadership Team.
The students who had applied for Prefect roles (including Community, Academic, Extra-Curricular, Sport and Media roles) immersed themselves in a range of activities designed to take them out of their comfort zones and encourage them to work as part of a wider team.
In the morning, students worked in teams, planning, and presenting on how they would shape their role and work alongside key staff and students in school. After producing some outstanding presentations, the students then supported lower year groups at breaktime, receiving fantastic feedback from the Year Group Teams.
The afternoon saw the students stepping out of their comfort zone to take part in a carousel of problem-solving activities with the British Army, learning new skills and working as a leadership team. They were commended by the Army team who were impressed by their enthusiasm and how well they engaged with all tasks presented to them.
Miss Nicholls remarked: “The students were an absolute credit to themselves, stepping up to all challenges presented to them and demonstrating a team spirit which epitomises why they have been selected for their new roles.”
The introduction of Year 12 students to our Prefect Team presents an exciting opportunity to develop and shape the roles further and we very much look forward to welcoming them to the wider Student Leadership Team.
