We recently thanked Dr John Storr, the outgoing Chair of our Local Advisory Board (LAB), by naming our medical room The Dr John Storr Medical Room in honour of his dedication to William Howard School.
Dr Storr served as Vice Chair of the WHS LAB from 2015 before becoming Chair in March 2019. After seven years in the role, he has now stepped down, but we are delighted that he will remain a valued member of the LAB. To mark the occasion, Head Student Jamie Judd presented Dr Storr with a framed print of the Brampton artwork that now adorns our foyer.
Joanna Gray, who has been a committed member of the LAB for the past four years, is the new Chair of our Local Advisory Board, and brings a wealth of expertise to her role.
Joanna heads up the Audit & Assurance Team at Armstrong Watson, with a specialism in education and the not-for-profit sector. She is passionate about ensuring that every child has access to high-quality education and the opportunities it brings.
Headteacher, Ms Pigdon commented: “As a school community we are incredibly thankful to Dr Storr, whose steady leadership and valued expertise have guided and supported us over the years. We are fortunate that he will continue to contribute his invaluable insight as a member of our LAB team. I am looking forward to the next stage of our school’s journey and feel very grateful to have Joanna as our Local Advisory Board Chair. Her expertise and commitment to our students will be a great strength as we continue to move forward.”
