For September 2026 Admissions, it is important that parents complete the following forms:

School Transport

If you live within the catchment area for WHS, all school transport queries should be directed to the Cumberland Council School Transport Team. https://www.cumberland.gov.uk/schools-and-education/school-transport provides information on the Council’s transport policy and how to apply for it.

VeriCool Biometric System

VeriCool is a secure biometric identification system that uses fingerprint recognition technology to verify a student’s identity. It will be used for cashless payments in the school canteen and pantry outlets.

Data Protection and Privacy

We understand the importance of protecting your child’s personal information. Please be assured that:

The biometric data is securely encrypted and stored in compliance with GDPR and Data Protection Act regulations.
VeriCool does not store actual fingerprints, but rather a unique digital template created from fingerprint data.
This data cannot be used outside the school environment or for any other purposes.

Consent

Consent can be confirmed on the Permissions Form (linked above). Failure to complete the consent form will result in removal from the biometric system. If you do not wish for your child to use the biometric system, an alternative arrangement (e.g. a PIN code) will be made available.

There will be no cash facility available in school, so please ensure that your child’s ParentPay account has sufficient funds if they wish to purchase food on site.
