We are extremely proud that Tracey Croucher, one of our Learning Support Teaching Assistants, has been presented with the Education Hero, Pride of Cumbria Award.
The accolade was announced at the The Newquest Pride of Cumbria Awards celebration evening at the Greenhill Hotel in Wigton, on Thursday 13th June.
A truly deserving recipient, Mrs Croucher was awarded the honour for her tremendous work with students and disability sports. She has been running inclusive sports sessions for the past 17 years – Boccia (a paralympic sport), table cricket, Panathlon games, and wheelchair football.
The students involved have been very successful and have represented the school and England on several occasions, with some even reaching Paralympic level.
During the presentation, the awards ceremony host announced: “Tracey tirelessly puts in the time, effort and hard work to ensure that every student is able to participate and excel. Her inclusive mindset is inspiring and her commitment to the wellbeing and development of her students is truly remarkable
Headteacher, Kath Pigdon, said “This is thoroughly well deserved given the exceptional work Tracey does in school. I can’t think of a more worthy recipient for this award.”
