We welcomed over 50 Year 3 and 4 pupils from our cluster primary schools to take part in a Basketball Festival, yesterday.
Six different activity stations, which focused on developing the key skills needed in the game, were planned and led by our Year 9 Sports Leaders. The primary children circulated round the stations, practising their skills before playing some fun, small-sided basketball games.
Mrs Holliday said, “I was so impressed with the behaviour, effort and enthusiasm from all the primary school pupils. They demonstrated excellent sportsmanship and an ability to work alongside others.”
This was the first primary school session our current Year 9 Sports Leaders have been involved in and Mrs Holliday added, “Their maturity and ability to organise and communicate with younger pupils was fantastic. They are brilliant role models for the primary school pupils.”
A huge well done to all involved!
