This half term, all students in Years 7, 8 and 9 were asked to create an A3 poster for the ‘Young Geographer of the Year’ competition.
This year’s themes were Lost Places, Hidden World and Extreme Environments. The students had to design a poster to explore a place of their choosing. Guidelines suggested that posters should be eye catching, creative and informative, promoting the world as a diverse and fascinating place.
Our pupils created some excellent posters; a winner was selected from each class and an overall winner was chosen from each year group. The three winners received prizes of a geography quiz book, a local edition OS map and chocolate.
Congratulations to our WHS winners: Year 7 – Harry B, Year 8 – Oliver G, Year 9 – Harriet A.
