Our school rock bands kickstarted morning assemblies with a bang this week.
On Monday, the Year 7&8 band played Micheal Jackson’s ‘Beat It’ for the Year 7 assembly. Our Year 9 band performed Linkin Park’s ‘In the End’ in Tuesday’s Year 8 assembly. And on Friday, our Year 10 musicians rocked the Year 9 assembly with Bon Jovi’s ‘Living on a Prayer’.
The bands are rehearsing hard in preparation for their big gig at the Brickyard in Carlisle on 1st July, so this was great practice for performing to an audience. They are also looking forward to being part of the school’s summer concert, where they will be performing Disney-themed rock songs.
New rock band members are always welcome – Year 7 & 8 practise on Tuesdays, Year 9 on Wednesdays and Year 10 on Fridays.
