We are always excited to hear about the talents and success of our students outside of school, so were very pleased to learn that Elena in Year 9 is excelling in the running and cross country world.
During the past 5 months her extensive achievements have included:
- 3 times first junior girl in local 5k races gaining a national ranking of 117 in the process
- 1st female in the Cumbrian Run 5k
- Most improved triathlete for Carlisle Junior Tri Club
- 1st place in Carlisle Schools cross-country trials and qualifying to run for Cumbria
- Part of a 3 female team that won the cross-country league
- Took part in the Northern Indoor Championships 200m in Sheffield
- 2nd place U15 girl in Cumbria Indoor Championships 60m gaining a national ranking of 482
On top of this, Elena is a valued member of our Year 9 hockey team and has been training hard with Talkin Tarn Rowing club, who she will hopefully be representing in future events.
