Netball
Our Year 8 and 10 netball teams were in action on Wednesday night against Trinity.
The Year 8 team started strongly with some good passing to link up the different areas of the court. Some excellent defensive interceptions from Poppy, Tilly and Annie limited any scoring opportunities for the opposition and allowed William Howard to have plenty of attacking plays. Some good shooting from our GA and GS players resulted in a 6-0 victory for William Howard – a brilliant result for this team who have improved so much this year! Well done to Tilly who was voted player of the match.
Meanwhile, our Year 10 team was evenly matched against Trinity, with the play going from end to end throughout the game. Some strong shooting from Jess, Janie and Olivia put William Howard ahead and by half time we had a narrow lead. Despite some good link up play in the centre court and a number of brilliant interceptions by Paloma and Ellen, Trinity fought back to go one ahead moving into the final quarter and went on to take the win 15-21. A special shout out to Ellen who was voted player of the match.
This was a highly competitive game, against two very strong teams, well done to all involved!
