WHS students had their chance to vote too on Thursday in a mock election held in school.
With so many parties pledging to reduce the voting age from 18 to 16 it was especially important that we gave students the opportunity to go through the process of voting in as realistic way as we could, so, as is the case with adults, if they didn’t have their ID (in the form of their planner or standards card) they weren’t able to vote.
Mr Connolly, who organised the mock election, said, “I would really like to thank the amazing students who ran the Polling Station and then counted and tallied the votes cast – we couldn’t have done it without them today.”
