During their PD lesson yesterday, 8YT were focusing on teamwork. They were tasked to create the tallest freestanding tower using only paper, sticky tape and scissors.
Each of the three groups worked well together, sticking to their own roles whilst helping others at the same time.
Teacher, Mr Byers said, “The students were very enthusiastic about the task and all demonstrated exceptional behaviour for learning, displaying our core values throughout. Resilience was shown by every single student through perseverance, using trial and error and learning from their mistakes. It was great to see everyone work together and play a part in creating these towers. Everyone tried really hard.”
Levi, Malaki, Bruce and Harvey all received ‘Learner of the Lesson’ for their commitment to the task and creating the tallest tower. The other teams received 6 achievement points each, for demonstrating the positive behaviours.
