Cross Country
24 WHS students represented Carlisle District at the Cumbria County Cross Country Championships on Wednesday, 15th January. The top 16 students are then selected to represent Cumbria in a competition in Middlesborough in February. Congratulations to all runners, especially to Elena Archibald, Aoife McAlister, Lousie Ackerley and Elliot Morgan who all finished in the top 16.
Hockey
Well done to both WHS girls 7-a-side hockey teams in their first match of 2025! Playing against Queen Elizabeth Grammar School both the Year 7/8 combined team and Year 8/9 team displayed great teamwork, good individual skills, and lots of resilience.
Final scores were Year 7/8 combined team lost 6-1; Year 8/9 combined team won 4-2. Special mention goes to Maisy and Louise for being players of the match for their respective teams and to Millie for her exceptional sportsmanship.
