Our Year 11 students tasted the world of work this week, gaining valuable experience and making real contributions — locally, nationally, and even internationally. From roles close to home to opportunities as far as Ben Nevis in Scotland and Oslo in Norway, they are embracing new environments and broadening their horizons.
Their work experience placements spanned a truly impressive range of industries: construction, education, sport, manufacturing, farming, veterinary care, hospitality, accountancy, outward bound, opticians, solicitors, hairdressing, engineering, fire and rescue, arboriculture, travel, aquatics, baking, chemistry, mechanics, superbikes, dance, rail, law, the NHS, zoology, golf, auctioneering, and public relations. Each opportunity enabled them to explore future career paths, build confidence, and develop the skills they’ll need for success.
Here are just a few examples of our students enjoying their placements (at Cornerstones Community Hub and Café in Carlisle; at RH Irving Construction Ltd; and Tech4 Office Equipment Ltd).
