On Tuesday 7th July, a group of our Year 8 girls took part in the Cumbrian Energus CyberFirst Mini MEGA Event in Workington — and they were nothing short of outstanding.
The day was bursting with exciting, high challenge activities: an escape room, coding missions, Open Source Intelligence (OSINT) investigations, and even multilingual puzzles. Whether working solo, in pairs, or as a team, our students demonstrated creativity, resilience, and impressive problem-solving skills at every turn.
One of the standout moments came during the GCHQ led session — a highlight so top secret we weren’t allowed to take photos. Despite the hush hush atmosphere, our girls made their mark in spectacular fashion, finishing as the top performing team.
Computing Teacher Ms Angland reported: “With their enthusiasm, teamwork, and sheer brilliance, the students represented our school with distinction.”
