Students in Year 7 have been working hard to escape ‘Saturday Detention’, inspired by their current class read, Dread Wood. During their literacy lessons, they worked together to use a variety of reading, mathematical, oracy and logic skills in the hope of escaping a potentially disastrous fate. The pupils completed a series of puzzles before unscrambling a key piece of advice that they will need as they continue reading the story.
Our Year 7 Literacy curriculum continues to engage students with a variety of different activities that promote literacy skills but also a love of reading that will equip them across all of their learning.
